City provides update on roadworks along Hout Bay Main Road
26 March 2026
The City's Roads Infrastructure Management team is currently doing permanent pothole repairs using hot asphalt along Main Road between Constantia Nek and Victoria Road in Hout Bay. This forms part of regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the city’s road network.
The work started on Monday, 23 March 2026 and will continue till Tuesday, 31 March 2026, weather permitting.
‘If all goes according to plan, the pothole repair project currently underway in Hout Bay along Main Road between Constantia Nek and Victoria Road will continue until Tuesday 31 March 2026, with the works limited to weekdays between 08:30 to 16:00. These repairs have to be done now before the rainy season as the permanent road repairs require dry and warm conditions,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
Single lane closures will be in place while work is under way. Road users are urged to please factor in additional travel time, approach the area with caution and follow the temporary signs and guidance from flag personnel.
We urge residents to report potholes and any other road issues via the City’s call centre at 0860 103 089 or on the City App. Otherwise, log a service request on www.capetown.gov.za/servicerequests or send an email to transport.info@capetown.gov.za .
